This Victorian, gold filled fob seal charm c1900 features a swagged motif. Its faceplate is engraved "GVM". These types of charms were quite popular from the 1880s into the early 1900s. They were typically engraved with the owner's monogram. In the later years, they were largely decorative, but in early years they would have been used to make an impression in wax to seal correspondence.
