SPRING/SUMMER MUSE: MISHA NONOO
This month we are excited to announce our Spring/Summer influencer, Misha Nonoo. Not only are we huge fans of Misha’s clothing line, but we’ve always been impressed with the savvy female entrepreneur herself. From her personal style to her progressive view on the direction of the fashion industry, she never ceases to amaze.

LS: Tell me about “Misha’s world.” Who is the woman you are designing for?
MN: I design for ambitious women, who are busy and lead very full lives. They are passionate about what they do, and they are dedicated to achieving their goals in life. They have a desire to look and feel their best in any situation.
LS: You take women from “day to play.” Tell us about your own 9AM to 9PM schedule?
MN: I start my day with a cup of green tea. I can’t function in the morning without it. I feed our dog Thatcher and then catch up on some emails and read Business of Fashion on my iPhone. Then, I normally have a morning meeting with production, another meeting with one of my teams mid-afternoon and an event in the evening. It is always changing, but I normally never get home before 9pm, which is why versatility and the concept of day-to-play is a key factor in my designs. Being able to wear one look for day-to-night and transform it by removing a piece or changing my lipstick allows me to save so much time.
LS: Who is one woman you feel deeply inspired by - either someone from the past or someone currently alive?
MN: Sheryl Sandberg. She is a pioneer and an innovator. She is one of the greatest supporters of women of our time.
LS: How do you feel about the current state of the fashion industry? You’re making a lot of innovative moves lately - what are trends you have your eye on?
MN: I think it is a really exciting time in the fashion industry right now. I am in the process of transitioning my business model for next season. I am working towards redefining what it means to present and promote a fashion collection in the ever-evolving digital age to embrace digital and a wider consumer audience.
LS: If you could sit down and have a drink with one icon from the past… who would it be, where would you take him or her and what would you ask him or her?
MN: Winston Churchill. I would ask to hear about which accomplishment he most treasured.
LS: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received as a designer?
MN: “Just Be.”
LS: What is the most sentimental piece of jewelry you own and why?
MN: My wedding ring.
LS: What is one Lulu Frost piece you especially love right now and why?
MN: I really love the CODE Collection because it’s classic, but still fun and not too serious. I love that the rings spell out a hidden message.
LS: If you could spell out one word with our custom CODE Words collection what would it be?
MN: Thatcher, the name of my dog.
LS: What’s your lucky number and why?
MN: 20 - the day I was born.
LS: One quote to live by?
MN: “We were together. I forget the rest.” - Walt Whitman
LS: Biggest guilty pleasure?
LS: Fill in the blank. Jewelry has the power to ______.
MN: Hold sentiment and memories.
LS: Fill in the blank. A woman’s wardrobe has the power to ______.
MN: Create a movement.
