Collabs : Common Thread NYFW 2018

For NYFW we joined forces with a few of our favorite local creatives on a limited edition capsule collection, “Common Thread”. Thread masters Chris & Clayton Griggs of The Griggs Brothas, helped us to create custom embroidered necklaces while designer Joshua Joseph of Rebels to Dons crafted one-of-a-kind track pants with select Lulu Frost vintage and antique buttons. To celebrate the collaboration, we threw a kick-off party at the Lulu Frost studio where guests had the opportunity to customize items on the spot, while enjoying local bites and sweet tunes.

Afterwards, we caught up with The Griggs Brothas and Joshua Joseph to hear more about their process and what keeps them inspired.

To catch The Griggs Brothas in action, stop by our 7 Prince Street retail shop in NYC for an exclusive in-store pop-up on

Saturday, February 24th from 1 - 3PM

Come and create!

Tell us a bit about your background and how you began working in fashion.

Our love for fashion started in High school. After Fashion College in Miami we have been blessed to work for some of the top companies in the industry - Ralph Lauren, Sean John, Nike and many more.

We were able to start a custom shop at Opening Ceremony in 2016 that is still there today called the "Get Personal Shop".

What's your favorite part about working together as twins/brothers?

Tell us a bit about your background and how you began working in fashion.

At age 12 I had a passion for art, DJ & MC. At age 16 a lot changed in my life. I started working at my family’s Rastafarian craft shop in Brooklyn - making hat, leather goods & detail garments. Hands on training I was blessed with!

What's the meaning behind the name 'Rebels to Dons'?

Rebels To Dons is a lifestyle brand. A way of life. It’s self building & aspiring. Sharpening your craft until you become a master at it. That's Rebels To Dons!

Where do you find inspiration?

To find balance, my inspiration sometimes varies from anthropology to different cultures & lifestyles - layering it with vintage patterns & textures.

What is it about the Lulu Frost brand that you connect with?

I connect with Lulu through vision, I love the approach of the brand and the diversity of the designs. From vintage to modern.. it goes great with Rebels.
