events & travel

The warmer days are finally upon us, and it has us craving those spontaneous trips with some off-the-grid destinations. We checked in with a few of our Lulu staffers who kicked off the season right. Here is a snapshot inside their travels, and how it inspires their own personal style:

[INSPIRATION] Miami is a sensory overload.. in the best possible way. Between the Art Deco influence that abounds in South Beach to the burgeoning art scene in Wynwood, there's something for every taste. As a Graphic Designer, I couldn't help but fall for the bold patterns and color found on everything from neatly lined beach umbrellas to graffiti-covered walls. It was my first trip there but it definitely won't be my last.

[STYLE INFLUENCE] In a lot of ways my personal style is similar to the classic Art Deco architecture found in South Beach. Clean lines, but with a pop of color.

[INSPIRATION] I recently spent a day roaming around the charming town of Todos Santos - about an hour outside of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I loved everything about it, from the people to the architecture to the vibrant colors that peppered the streets. I was especially drawn to the shades of yellow, teal and pink that made up the buildings in Todos Santos. It felt like the happiest place on earth.

[STYLE INFLUENCE] I realized that although I mostly wear black, I am so drawn to loud, bright colors. There is nothing more exciting than throwing on a flowing, patterned dress with a large pair of statement earrings that fit right into the scenery around you. Color can make you feel like you're on vacation.

[INSPIRATION] Mexico is one of the most colorful countries I've ever been to. I was blown away by all of the treasures everywhere I looked. I recently moved apartments, so the trip was perfect timing to add some new color and flavor.

[STYLE INFLUENCE] In terms of my jewelry style, I either go for minimal or very unique and not a lot in between. The ocean reminds of the more monochromatic, minimal look I gravitate towards during the day. The skulls represent a one-of-a-kind unique and artful style that I will always go crazy for when choosing jewelry for a special occasion.
